England vs West Indies | T20 International | March 15th 2009

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

England will tomorrow be led on the field by a captain who is still trying to cement his place in the one day and t20 XIs. Andrew Strauss hasn’t played one day cricket in the last twenty four months and even longer since he played twenty20 cricket from his country. He is in good batting form though, and that surely is a consolation.

West Indies have a great T20 player and captain in Chris Gayle but unfortunately the injury in the just concluded test series means he is out of tomorrow’s game. Dinesh Ramdine will skipper the West Indies side in his place.

Tomorrow’s match is scheduled at Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Live Telecast can be seen in India, Pakistan and the middle east on Ten Sports. Schedule: 15th March, Match starts 2330 hrs India time. For Live Cricket Streaming, use the comments area to share and exchange relevant info.

England vs West Indies | 5th Test Live Cricket Streaming

Friday, March 6th, 2009

The 5th Test ( originally scheduled Test) between England and West Indies has begun today at the Port of Spain cricket ground in Trinidad. English captain Andrew Strauss won the toss and chose to bat and after the first few overs, West Indies captain Chris Gayle surprisingly switched to a pre-mature defensive mode. It has been obvious that being 1-0 up in the series, the Windies skipper is just happy to defend the match. But adopting a strategy like this on the first day of cricket in a test can be dangerous and counter-productive. The Port-of-Spain wicket has traditionally been a result pitch and the home team’s think tank should have factored that into their strategy.

England are currently placed at 192/2 and in spite of the comparatively slow scoring rate, it has been fascinating watching the match live so far. Looks like this test will be as much a contest of mental skills between Gayle an Pietersen as much as the on field cricket skills. So don’t miss watching the cricket live from Port-of-Spain. I am watching the live cricket on Set Max. It is interesting to watch a cricket pitch in the Caribbean offering so much of assistance to spinners on day 1 of the test. Are you watching the live cricket streaming of the test on the web? Why don’t you tell us too? England vs West Indies | 3rd Test | Highlights

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Now when was the last time that a team that got bundled out for about 50 runs in a test innings went on to score over 600 in the very next innings against the very same team. Barring for technicalities (since this technically isn’t the next innings, actually it’s not even the very next test, thanks to the farce at the Sir Vivivan Richards Stadium in Antigua), that’s likely to happen at the Antigua Recreation Ground as the England bastmen pile on the miseris for the West Indies bowlers.

England captain and opener Andrew Strauss’ 169 was the highlights of the innings, Cook, Shah and Pietersen scored fifties and now Collingwood is batting on 109.  The scorecard reads 521/8 and except for a likely declaration by the England captain, 600 should happen. Now that is some comeback for a team that barely managed to cross their lowest inningst total in their cricket history. And we are talking about the cricket history of the country with the oldest cricket history, no less.

Now that makes for an exciting highlights package, doesn’t it. So do mail us and share with us the information that you have about watching the highlights of the England vs West Indies 3rd Test at Antigua. Of course, you are welcome to club along the names of your favourite webcasts and sopcasts for live cricket streaming of the test – more than 3 days still to go in the test.

It’s an interesting battle ensuing at the Sabina Park, Kingston Jamaica.

England batted first and scored 318. Kevin Pietersen was the star for England narrowly missing his century to get out for 97. It was an exciting over as Pietersen had scored 14 off the last 3 balls before he got out trying to make it 20 in four balls. Flintoff and Prior were the other contributors for England scoring 43 and 64 respectively. For West Indies Benn was impressive taking 4 wickets while Taylor chipped in with 3.

In response, West Indies are currently well-placed at 321 for the loss for 6 wickets. England though bowled well today not allowing the West Indies batsmen to break free. So far Ramnaresh Sarwan has been the top scorer with a fine century.  He was dismissed for 107 by Broad – though Sarwan tried to reverse the decision by going for a referral, his appeal was reversed. Captain Chris Gayle too scored a century. As we write, Nash and Taylor are at the crease trying to extend the lead and take complete control of the match.

Even though West Indies are well ahead at the moment, it is important for them to take a good lead as they will have to bat last on the Sabina Park wicket where chasing anything over 200 might not be the easiest task.
