Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

The India vs New Zealand Test Series gets underway in another six hours. You can watch the live telecast of the 1st Test on tv on the cricket channel Set Max. The 1st day’s cricket will start live from 0330 hrs India Standard Time. Regarding live cricket streaming for the test, leave your opinions and views in the comments area below.

India enter a test series in New Zealand for the first time brimming with confidence and as clear favourites. They convincingly won the one day series, and the batting will only be further strengthened as Test cricket specialists VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid join the team. The 1st Test is at Hamilton, where Rahul Dravid averages over100.

History is not too motivating for India as the Indian batting was really abysmal on the last series. This time not only does the batsmen look in better shape, but the Kiwi wickets too don’t look as menacing. At most India will need to be careful with the new ball. If they can get off to a good start, then I don’t see New Zealand being able to pose much of a challenge. However this is just a predictions, and cricket is a funny game. We will know what will happen soon enough – live cricket action is just a few hours away.

After that great run-fest in the 3rd One Day at Christchurch, every cricket fan is waiting for more. That match had everything a cricket fan could ask for. A great innings from the maestro Sachin Tendulkar. Around the arc lusty hitting from Yuvraj Singh. A great cameo at the end of the Indian innings from Suresh Raina, who is increasingly looking the future of Indian ODI cricket. India scored 392 runs, no less, yet the match was hardly over at half-time.

When Brendon Mc Cullum and Jesse Ryder walked into bat, no one gave New Zealand an iota of a chance. But the two played sensibly yet quick runs came and the two Kiwi openers helped the home team cross 150 without the loss of any wicket, and then it looked like a match on. But then a flurry of wickets killed the match but towards the end, some lusty hitting by Mills and other New Zealand lower order batsmen created some panic in the Indian camp. Munaf Patel definitely lost his head and when he bowled two height no-balls he was promptly removed from bowling by the umpire.

India finally won the match by 58 runs, but that margin doesn’t tell the whole story. Let’s hope that the 4th One Day turns out to be as interesting. But don’t forget to post your live streaming cricket links in the comments area!
